[ Abstract ]
Due to the railways had to economic development in the 19th century, in this article I intend to carry out an analysis of the efforts that the bourgeoisie of a city media such as San Sebastián, which saw in this new means of transport a key element for a modernization process whose early can be placed in the 1940s of this century. Therefore, to make this study, it will be necessary to analyse the various projects submitted and their respective implications both geographically and economically, highlighting the strategies employed by that bourgeoisie local in their quest to provide the capital guipuzcoan railway and tram.
