is born with the aim of promoting the entire activity of historical investigation referred to the economic sectors of transports, services and telecommunications. With the edition of this magazine, we seek to fulfil a historiographic gap with a current publication, whose development is deeply rooted into the scientific rigour and the systematisation that defines the academic works.

TST is a magazine not only with a historic approach, centred within the Spanish environment, but also with a clear and significant link with the History of Europe and, very especially, with that of Latin America. The contents address all the transport, services and telecommunications systems, not excluding any period of the History, stressing the studies on the infrastructure and operation management activities, and more fundamentally on their economic and social aspects.

TST seeks to analyze the contribution of these sectors both to the economic progress and to the development of the society as a whole. That is the reason for outweighing the long-term scope: because it is within those fields where the nature of the changes and innovations derived from these systems, and their influence within the society, can be detected more clearly.

One of the TST goals is to establish close connections with the more important companies and institutions, as they treasure a heritage that has contributed to the modernization of the economy and the society. 

Consequently, to establish the appropriate links between the academic purposes and those involving these companies and public institutions is a primary point. However, TST goals are not only the research and dissemination works, or the mere studies of scholars and researchers. On the contrary, our concern is to reflect on these sectors' history to face the challenges that today affect the transport and telecommunication systems.
